Formerly known as Roandoak, on the Chorro Creek Ranch in Morro Bay has recently been awarded a $2,000.00 grant
from the City of Morro Bay's Aid to Agencies. The grant money was requested for much needed kitchen improvements. Specifically a new commercial range with a full size oven. Morro Bay's grant
provides about half the cost of the range. Donations can be sent to West Coast Housing 445 Chorro Creek Rd. Morro Bay, Ca 93442.

WCH also hosted Cal Poly's Design/Build class in last years spring quarter. Students were asked to design a new
fifteen-unit facility to replace its present aging building. "They met and exceeded our expectations buy designing some very practical and affordable designs." comments Project Manager Greg
Buscho. WCH plans to have several such facilities in the future.
As a privately funded non-profit 501(c)3 WCH has been providing three meals a day for more then thirty-seven years to an average of
thirty residents. Director Joseph Goodwin says, "That's over one million meals and over three hundred and eight thousand nights to the homeless, there are not to many facilities that can say that."
Founded in nineteen seventy one as a religious haven for the wandering "Hippies" of the Jesus People movement the Ranch has
gone through it's changes over the years but always maintained it's commitment to the homeless. Before Goodwin took over directorship of the Ranch the quality of life for the residents had deteriorated
significantly. WCH now stands as an example of what a community can do to help the homeless help themselves.
